How do you save on meat?
The answer is simple, all you have to do is cut back on your meat, according to a study.
The researchers from the University of Queensland have developed a meat efficiency test that shows how much meat can be saved by cutting back on animal protein.
“We have found that meat is an energy intensive food and the best way to save energy is to cut back your meat consumption,” lead researcher Dr Joanna Jones said.
She said the test showed a reduction of 0.2 per cent in the amount of meat a person could eat per week.
Dr Jones said the study showed people could save money on their meat consumption, as long as they cut back their animal protein consumption.
It also showed that people were more likely to choose healthy, local food if they cut their meat down.
