The driver of a pickup truck struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while crossing a highway has died.
Police say the driver, whose name is not being released, was crossing the highway on Interstate 40 in North Carolina when he was hit by the truck, which was carrying two women, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.
Police said the pickup truck was headed southbound on I-40 when it was struck by a pickup driven by a white male driver.
He was taken to WakeMed, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The driver of the truck was not injured, but the two women in the pickup were transported to a hospital for treatment.
No charges have been filed.
